The Island Queen offers seasonal passenger-only ferry service between Falmouth, Cape Cod and Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard. Our season begins in late May and continues through mid-October each year.

The Island Queen is a seasonal, passenger-only ferry that operates from late-May to mid-October.

Ferry Schedule Information >>

  • We offer daily and over night parking beginning at 8:00AM daily.
  • Handicap Parking (day-trips only) is available at the ferry dock for $20.00, based on availability.
  • All parking lots close approximately 15-minutes after the arrival of our last sailing, except for emergency let-outs. (Additional fee applies).
  • General Parking: $20 per calendar day (Cash Only)

Oak Bluffs Departures

  • Tickets may be purchased onboard the vessel

Note

  • Ferry tickets are open ended and valid for any day and on any sailing.
  • We recommend you arrive at least 45-minutes prior to your chosen departure time, especially during the months of July and August.
  • Reservations are not available (except for groups of 20 or more passengers).
  • Passengers may bring bicycles, kayaks, surf & paddle boards onboard, for an additional fee.
  • Pets are welcome, free of charge, if properly leashed or crated.

Falmouth Boarding

  • Passengers are guaranteed placement on the boat once inside our Falmouth Boarding Area.

Oak Bluffs Boarding

  • Passengers should arrive to the Oak Bluffs Boarding Area at least 45-minutes in advance of departure. As placement on the boat is on a first-to-arrive basis.

NOTE:
Passengers may bring bicycles, kayaks, surf & paddle boards onboard, for an additional fee.
Pets are welcome, free of charge, if properly leashed or crated.

Martha’s Vineyard Sightseeing Tours

The island tour includes a thirty minute stop at the Gay Head Cliffs in beautiful Aquinnah. The Cliffs are recognized worldwide for their dazzling red clay and natural beauty. Food & gift items are available at a number of different shops.

Here is what to expect when you arrive at the Island Queen Ferry in Falmouth.

  • Credit cards, cash and travelers checks are accepted at the Island Queen ticket windows in Falmouth.
  • Parking Lots and Onboard Vessel purchases accept cash and travelers checks only.
  • Each sailing offers a delightful 35 minute cruise across the sparkling waters of Vineyard Sound between Falmouth, Cape Cod and Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard.
  • A full service snack bar and restrooms are available aboard the Island Queen Ferry.
  • We are a passenger only ferry service.
  • We do not accept motor vehicles.
  • Passengers are advised to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to departure for parking and ticketing, especially during July & August.
  • Ferry tickets are open ended for any day and departure time and are not a reservation.
  • During our summer schedule, you are guaranteed placement on the boat once you have entered our Boarding Area in Falmouth and have been counted as a passenger.
  • In Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard we recommend you arrive 45 minutes in advance of your chosen departure as placement on the boat is on a first to arrive basis.
  • Handicap restrooms are available at our Falmouth dock, prior to departure.
  • The main deck of the vessel is accessible to wheelchairs and electric scooters.
  • We welcome pets who are properly leashed or crated at no charge.
  • For your convenience, the Island Queen Ferry to Martha’s Vineyard adheres to the published schedule.
  • We are not responsible for inconveniences caused by weather or unforeseen situations.

Advanced bookings for groups of 20 or more passengers may be available and must be requested at least 3-days prior to departure.

Alternate transportation, including other ferry and taxi services, will be at the passenger’s expense. Passengers are entitled to full refunds on the unused portion of their ferry tickets.
